Contributors are at the heart of International Perspective‘s online magazine. They provide a steady stream of thought-provoking articles on current or otherwise unknown topics in international affairs. They may also publish specific career advice for aspiring professionals. For more information on the content of these articles, check our submission guidelines. All writers provide articles to the Editorial Board, which organises the online magazine and its publications. Contributors will submit their articles to peer review during a predefined publication cycle.
We provide you with the chance to gain experience working with a professionally organised magazine. Contributors can improve skills that are important to a variety of fields, including research, journalism, advocacy and communication. With every article published, you will be able to prove your relevance and capabilities to a broad audience, including potential employers.
Contributors will gain access to a set of professional tools, contrary to guest contributors. These include a personal IP e-mail address and access to the IP business card template. Additionally, contributors can be promoted to the position of editor or chief editor.
Write five to ten articles of any type per year, depending on the research and thus time required.
Proofread a minimum of one submitted article per month.
Aside from these responsiblities, we encourage our Contributors to write as often as they would like to.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Insight in and good knowledge of international affairs, specific specialisation is a plus.
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
- Good writing skills and good knowledge of the academic method.
- Preferred possession of a bachelor’s or master’s degree, thus having completed a dissertation.
International Perspective is a learning experience for all of us, so we value creativity and enthusiasm above any theoretical knowledge.
Contributors will be bound by a Publishing Agreement for every article they submit. Furthermore, all contributors will have to become a member of the association of International Perspective. This membership ensures that you adhere to our internal regulations, although you will not be subject to any form of liability.
